PMR Insight: Why is there no well-developed market for hospital insurance policies in Poland?

The first and primary reason is the price of such policies and the fact that the market for medical subscriptions and voluntary health insurance remains at an early stage of development compared to Western countries. Another barrier is a legal framework that keeps private insurers out of the mandatory health insurance space, in which the NFZ has a monopoly.
